What can you tell us about your family? I enjoy spending time with my family, extended family, and friends.
How long have you been attending ZUMBAjen classes? Almost 2 years
Which classes do you normally attend? Regular Zumba classes and Triple Threat
What do you love about our classes? It is fun, a great way to stay fit, and it's a stress reliever.
What kind of changes have you noticed in your body since you've been working out with us? I am stronger, especially in my core and legs. i have more energy, and have lost many inches.
What kind of changes have you noticed in your overall health and wellness? I am able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Zumba is a great stress reliever, and helps clear my mind.
What are your biggest fitness/wellness challenges? Balancing what I like/want to eat, with staying healthy.
What are you most proud about regarding fitness/healthy lifestyle? Three years ago, I lost 27 pounds using Weight Watchers. Zumba came at just the right time. It has helped me maintain weight loss.
Any hobbies? Interests? Baking, reading, watching TV, shopping, and going to live events, especially concerts.
What's your favorite healthy, and not-so-healthy snack? Healthy-Apples with cinnamon and toasted almonds. Not-so-healthy - chocolate cake.
What's your favorite vacation spot? Long Beach Island, NJ
What's one thing people would be surprised to know about you? Over the past 2 1/2 years I've attended over 30 concerts (and counting)! Mostly with my cousin. In addition to going, we must take hundreds of pictures to commemorate the event!
Anything else you'd like to say in introducing yourself to us? I was in the first ZUMBAjen class at St. Maurice. It has been wonderful to see how the classes have grown. It has also been nice to meet new people along the way!
Note from jen: Amanda has a very special place in my heart, as one of my very first Zumba students! I love having her in the front line-she learns routines fast, and always puts a lot into her workouts! If you're having trouble with any of the moves---she's a good one to watch from the floor!
